A Typical Breakfast at a Mamak's
I don't know which part of India this originated from, most probably South India, but it's called Puri, and the gravy/sauce/whatever is absolutely delicious ... It's not hot, but it's got just the right kind/amount of spices to make the Puri delectable ... It's my favourite breakfast at the moment, while I wait for any of my co-workers to arrive at the workplace 'coz the bloody biometric security thingamajig just cannot read my thumbprint ...
To top off my Puri fixation, a bowl of soft-boiled eggs to add protein is perfection ... The eggs are too hot to crack, so had to use paper napkin to hold one side of the egg so I can crack it open with the spoon ... It's kind of a messy affair, so that is why the used paper napkin is not in view ... To make my soft-boiled eggs delicious, I just add a liberal amount of white pepper and a dash of soy sauce ... The eggs are just at the right consistency ... Not too solid and not too runny ... The mamaks sure know how to make soft-boiled eggs ... But I spoke too soon because the following week, I ordered the same number of soft-boiled eggs and they were a little too runny for my taste ...
