Goodbye My Nikon Coolpix L27
Wanna know what happened to that Konica Minolta? It got stolen ... Don't ask me the gory details, but it happened sometime in 2014 when I was, well, not well ... But, the idiots who stole it probably did not check what kind of a battery the camera had ... It was a special battery that could only be charged with a special charger, which I had kept in my room ... Safe to say that it must have happened while I was out and about and my brain decided to do a crazy little jig ... However, the camera had an SD card full of photos taken while I was at Langkawi, among other things ... Of course my mug must also be in some of those photos ... That is my main concern until now ... I do hope that the wanker idiots who stole the poor camera, oh what the hell, I just hope they don't use my mug in some stupid porn shit ...
Anyway, with regards to my Nikon Coolpix, I have been taking photos with it ever since, albeit on a rather irregular basis ... It only required two AA alkaline batteries, so if it ever got stolen, the bugger idiots would be luckier this time ... No, I still have the camera, or rather I wish it would still work ... You see, the camera now no longer accepts generic alkaline batteries ... Doesn't matter what brand of batteries they are ... What happened was that one day, the camera just did not want to take photos ... I'd used a pair of low-brand batteries, and the camera would turn on, but when I clicked it, it just automatically shut down ... I bought a pair of a well-known Japanese brand of batteries ... This brand makes all sorts of electronics and electrical appliances ... The camera didn't even turn on ... F**K ... What the hell, I thought ...
So, I took it to the Nikon Service Centre in KL ... I demonstrated the problem with the two sets of batteries to the technician ... She took it in and a while later came out with rechargeable batteries ... And the camera turned on beautifully ... I snapped a photo and it was ... WHAT THE F**K ... Why the hell was the camera working with rechargeable batteries, but not normal, alkaline batteries??? ... So, Nikon, another well-known Japanese brand, if you're reading this, MAKE YOUR STUPID CAMERAS LAST LONGER ...
After leaving the service centre, I went around looking at rechargeable batteries, from unknown brands to a well-known Japanese brand ... F**K JAPAN! ... Sorry, a little pissed right now ... Anyway, those rechargeable batteries and their chargers range from RM100 to almost RM200 ... I looked at my Nikon Coolpix and wondered, "Is it worth it?" ...
I've bought at least a dozen electronic thingamajigs in the last 15 years, and almost all of them broke down ... Maybe I'm the type of person who don't take care of these kinds of stuff ... Perhaps only men are good with these stupid machines ... Perhaps women are better at sex ... WHO THE F**K CARES, I WANT MY CAMERA TO WORK, BUT I AM NOT WILLING TO SPEND MORE MONEY ON IT THAN WHAT I ALREADY HAVE ...
In the end, I decided to take my Nikon Coolpix to a 'Trade, Sell, Buy' shop ... Safe to say that I didn't get much, but it was what I had expected ... I only got back a little bit more than one fifth of what I had spent on the camera ... Well, I bought it in November 2013, so it's almost four years anyway ... But still, why do electronic thingamajigs keep dying on me??? ... I'm still sore over the fact that just a few months ago, my DVD player decided it not longer wanted to be part of my miserable life ... Well, thanks a f**king lot, all you electronic thingamajigs ... I swear in God's name that I WILL NEVER EVER BUY ANY ELECTRONIC STUFF ... At least for an indefinite period ... I'm still hoping to get a laptop, which would be my 12th I think, so that I could do my next writing project ... But since I make peanuts, I don't know how long it will be before I saved enough to buy a really good one ... I'm thinking of a Mac, but I am so used to Windows so I am not sure whether it's a good idea ...
Anyway, until such a time arrives, the only way I'm gonna do my secret writing project is the old-fashioned way ... Writing it down on ruled paper ...
