The Question of Time While Shopping ...

I've been collecting plush toys ... Another one of my many expensive hobbies ... I got the Hare from Ikea, and Unijelly, Carrot and Captain America from Miniso ... I guess I just picked them up to make me feel better ... I remember buying Unijelly after I started working at the restaurant for the second time ... Carrot when I got this job doing online research, which only lasted two weeks ... Captain America after two months of enduring the Devil Spawn's spew of contempt ... I mostly hug the Captain America plush, thinking of hugging Chris Evans ...

Okay, so I bought a t-shirt from Marvel's 10 Years of Heroes exhibition before it closed its doors ... In my defense, I wrote it down as part of a shopping list, so I wasn't, like, overspending ... Speaking of the list, it has helped me cut down on my shopaholicism ... Even though I may write down a lot of items for a list at any given time, it helps me track my spending and make sure I don't spend unnecessarily on random items ...

Anyway, on this particular shopping trip, I left my place around 10am ... I went to the post office to renew my road tax and insurance, then I went to the motorbike workshop to get my scooter serviced ... All this, I think, took around one and a half hours ... Then I went to KL to do my shopping ... By the time the train rolled into the station near my place, it was around 4pm ... I'm thinking, "Where the f**k did all the time go?" ...

You see, I only went to three places on that day - H&M, Brands Outlet and the Marvel exhibition ... The first stop was H&M ... Okay, so I meandered a bit looking at clothes ... In the end, I bought some underwear (no need to mention exactly what are the items and have them in the pix above) ... Those items were on my shopping list ... I even brought some clothes for recycling, so I could get the H&M Conscious 15% discount voucher ... Then, I walked to Fahrenheit88, thinking I was going to go down the underground pass to Pavilion Elite where the Marvel Exhibition was located ... Along the way, I stopped at Brands Outlet and saw this pair of ballet shoes for MYR 5!!! Alright, so the item wasn't on the list, but it's just five f**king bucks!!! ...

All the while, I didn't really check on the time, but when I did, I was totally shocked how time had flown ... I mean, was I that long at H&M? ... And I only looked at shoes while I was at BO ... I didn't go to see the exhibition, instead I went straight to its store just to get the t-shirt ... I spent six hours on a shopping trip ... SIX F**KING HOURS ... Alright, so at the most, I spent two and a half hours doing my business in the morning and time spent on the train ... Did I just take three and a half hours buying three f**king items??? ... Okay, maybe out of that three and a half hours, I spent about an hour having lunch and performing the Zohor prayer ... But it still doesn't explain that I spent two and a half hours just getting three items ... (The sticker book is irrelevant) ...

I think I finally understand why a number of men find it frustrating to have to wait for their wives/girlfriends while they are on their shopping trips ... I myself find it totally mind-boggling that I could spend an hour or even more just looking and trying out clothes ... For me, if I have the item on my list, all I need to do is just go into the store, get the item, pay for it and get out ... But, I'll admit, while I was at H&M, I looked at a lot of clothes and thus, time flew ... And I did look at a number of merch while I was at the Marvel store ...

I guess I just find it kind of worrying that one can spend so much time doing something that at the end is not productive ... Sure, my eyes got feasted, but some of that lost time could have been put to good use ... I can't guarantee that I won't spend as much time on my next shopping trip, but at least I think I should check on the time a little bit more often so that I won't get carried away ...
