The screenshot is not that big, but at least AltaVista will remain in virtual space, time and memory ... I used Mozilla FireFox to browse for it instead of Google Chrome, in case it might get offended, and despite the fact that the homepage for the FireFox browser I use at the internet cafe is Google, I decided that using Bing would be better to search for AltaVista ... But I didn't need to use Microsoft's search engine, as a search for AltaVista will automatically use the Yahoo search engine ... Boy, I'm spouting off Silicon Valley giants left and right like nobody's business ...

Goodbye AltaVista *sniffles* ....
My jobs requires me to read hundreds of news articles every week, and today I came across a New York Times article that sounded the death knell of AltaVista, one of the earliest search engines before the advent of the now No 1 search engine in the world, Google ... I recall coming across AltaVista in my early college days, though I could not for the life of me remember whether I actually used it ... I must have, seeing as I used the Netscape browser, another dinosaur in the Age of the Internet ... So, here's to you, AltaVista, hope you have a happier life in Internet Heaven ...
