So I changed the sparkplug and the air filter ...




So, I did that at the last service ... Figured I needed to change the scooter's air filter since I reached 13,000-odd kilometres on the odometer ... Thought it was going to look really dirty but actually it doesn't look so bad, judging by the second photo ... The mechanic advised that the next change should be after I clocked another 20,000km on the odometer ... He also advised that I change the belt after I hit 15,000km ... I didn't know until he told me that there's a drive belt in scooters ... I guess all vehicles have it ...

As for the sparkplug, well, now I know what they mean when the plug needs changing ... I remember a long time ago when the mechanic advised that I changed the plug and I went all-blank ... "What the hell you do mean by plug? I didn't know that there's a power socket in my scooter" was the thought that coursed through my brain when the mechanic mentioned that ...

It goes to show how limited my knowledge of vehicles and their components and more importantly, what are the functions of those components ... For me, as long as I send my scooter to change the gear oil and the ... *bear with me* ... 'black' oil (direct translation from BM) every two months, I'm good to go ... I'm thinking it's engine oil but what the hell do I know ... All I know that there's two types of oil needed for my scooter ...

Not only that, I wash my scooter if and when it needs cleaning ... Meaning, almost near to never ... Once, a cat puked all over the seat, so that's the time I take the scooter to the car wash, but other than that, it would be months before I get my scooter clean ...

But, no matter how badly I treat my scooter, it has been my trusty companion for the last two to three years ... I sometimes go to KL on it just to feel the wind lapping my face and arms ... Then all of a sudden I notice that I am in the middle of f**king KL and f**king KL motorists ...
