I got my scooter back!

So, because I make peanuts, I told my sister-in-law that I would be taking back my scooter ... My nephew has been using it ... In return, I would return the car that is a blessing and a curse ... Blessing because I managed to get to my previous workplace and back come rain or shine ... Curse because it had a lot of maintenance issues ... Anyway, that scooter is mine because the road tax and insurance is under my name, but my mother paid for it ... Due to the fact that I now make peanuts and I have this whoop-ass of a debt, I think it will take me a hundred years before I can repay my mother for the scooter ... Save to say that both of us will be dead by then ...

Anyway, today I went to get my scooter ... I still had my helmet ... Of course, it's a Givi, why the hell would I want to Givi-it-up? ... But, I was a little apprehensive ... After all, I haven't ridden a motorcycle in more than two years ... I keep imagining me getting hit and flying forty feet in the air, landing a thudding crush and ending up with a full body cast ... Of course not, just kidding ...

Chit chat with my sis-in-law (mainly about her cats) and had lunch ... My brother didn't even bother coming out from the bathroom ... I don't know what his problem is ... My sis-in-law says because he's doing #2 and that he spends all that time on the throne playing games on his phone ... Yeah, whatever ... Anyway, I put on my helmet and tried to start the scooter ... It won't start at all ... I press the starter over and over and nothing happened ... My sis-in-law called a neighbour who helped kick-started it ... I told myself, "Well, I'll just have to take it to the workshop near my place where I bought the scooter and get the battery fixed" ... The thing is, the distance between my brother and sis-in-law's place and mine is about 40km ... Yes, you read that right ... There I was, haven't ridden a motorcycle for two years, and I was about to be exposed to stupid Malaysian motorists who don't give a f**king shit about some woman on a scooter ... Plus, there was that starter problem ...

I took the highway, but for some reason, on the way home, I think I got lost because I couldn't find the exit to the main highway to KL ... So, you know what I did? I rode back all 15km to my sis-in-law's place and took a different exit to get to the selfsame main highway ... That took up some gas, so had to stop at a gas station ... It was time for Zohor anyway ... Again, I couldn't kick-start the motor ... Had to ask some Mamat Motor, and here he explained that I have to pull the right brake while kick-starting the motor ... It doesn't make a difference to me because I'm lousy at these sort of things ... Anyway, riding on the highway should have given me a sense of exhilaration ... I could feel the wind whipping at my arms and at times I think I went a little too fast because the slipstream of vehicles passing by me made the scooter a little unstable ... But, I was chasing time ... I only have today and the next six days is hell ... Just kidding ... The job I have now is alright ... It's just very exhausting ...

So, I reached the motorcycle shop ... Told the mechanic about my problem ... He simply pulled the right brake and pressed the starter, and the scooter came to life ... I just stood there like the stupid ass that I was ...

Anyway, now I can go to my workplace with my scooter ... I am a happy wabbit :) ... Alhamdulillah ... But, the helmet box cannot lock, and I just couldn't be bothered to call my my nephew and ask what the problem is ... The thing is, I had a perfectly good helmet box before this, when I still had the MZ Moskito, but I changed to this one because I wanted one with LED lighting ... Oh, well, I am not changing the box, I'll just have to take in my helmet and cram it in the locker with my bag and my water bottle and my lunch box and my ... The list goes on ... The locker is small, btw ...

Update 02/11/2017 – You know what? The helmet box can lock ... It's just that I'm a stupid ass ...

You see the thingamajig that says "press" ... Well, I didn't press that ... Like I said, stupid ass ...
